Description: Ellen has won multiple awards (Gold Key, Silver Key, Honorable Mention) in Scholastic Art Competitions in Connecticut State and New York State, and an award in the iCreate Bruce Museum Exhibition, and Special Recognition award in Congressional Arts Competition in CT. She is also a winner for Children’s Origami USA Exhibit and reported as "magnificent seven folders" by PAPER, The Magazine of OrigamiUSA. She started learning art at the age of 4 with different mediums, including drawings and paintings, digital art, and origami. She studies art at the Artistic Minds Art Studio. She is actively involved in Big Picture Foundation (BPF), a non-profit organization, to empower youth to use the arts to create an interactive global community. She served as the ambassador of Asia to connect schools to BPF to promote peace by art. She has extensive experience teaching art at the YMCA and community and is excited to work with your children on art including pencil drawing. Teaching scope: This class is designed for student ages 9+ with some drawing technical skills. From this course, she will teach each student to understand drawing compositions, utilize concepts of highlights, proportions, shadows, and stroke techniques. She will help student build a solid drawing foundation, self-confidence, explore creative abilities through the use of pencil sketching, and prepare for art competitions. Materials needed: Sketch book (any size but not too small), pencil HB, 2B, and 4B, mono erasers.
