Description: Introduction Hello! My name is Sharon Li and I am a sophomore at Yale who intends to study MB&B (Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics) and HSHM (History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health). Outside of class, I am involved in RNA research, GRC consulting group, and I hope to write for the Yale Scientific Magazine or the Yale Daily News this year. I have previously tutored students from grades 6-12 in writing, science, and math as a part of the Tutoring and Advising Program (TAP), and I have edited several students college essays in the fall of 2020. I am very excited to teach this class! Class Introduction Students who are interested in creative writing will be assigned a prompt every two weeks. During class, I will go over examples of creative writing pieces, help students brainstorm, and answer questions. Additionally, I intend to connect with each student outside of class once a week to go over the pieces they are working on and give advice. A Calendly will be sent out to schedule 15-minute meetings each week or I can also discuss the writings through email/text if that is more convenient. At the end of the class, students will need to complete a final project, which will be approximately four pieces, in which they have the freedom to write about any topics that interest them. This final project will last three to four weeks, and the student can reach out to me at any point to discuss their ideas.
