Dear Members of the SCCS Community,

Although the classes haven’t started yet, our teachers, administrative team, the Board and PTA have worked hard during the winter break to ensure that the School has a good beginning of the new semester. Here I would like to share with you some information on two exciting events for our members in February:

• Feb. 1 (Sunday): Talk and Book Signing by Amy Chua
  • Title: The Triple Package: How to Promote Creativity, Leadership Skills, and Happiness in Children while Maintaining Confucius Values
    
  • Time: 1: 30-3:00 P.M.

  We are thrilled to invite Prof. Amy Chua, the bestselling author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, to share her personal experiences and perspectives on how to draw the best practices from the Western and Eastern traditions in order to raise a successful and well-rounded child. • Feb.14 (Saturday): Chinese New Year Gala
  • Time: 3:00-5:30 P.M.
  • Location:SCSU Lyman Center

The Chinese New Year Gala is the most important cultural event at the SCCS. This year we will celebrate the Year of the Goat/Sheep together at the Lyman Center on February 14. We will enjoy the wonderful performance of our students, parents and other community members. Currently, the school PTA, teachers, and parent volunteers are actively preparing for this exciting event. More information will be sent out by the PTA soon. Please stay tuned.
