时光飞逝，转眼半个学期已经过去，本周日夏令时结束，请大家记得将时针拨回一小时，星期天中文学校将按冬季时间上课。
春节晚会2月4日举办，请开始准备节目
明年2月4日，学校将在Lyman Center举行一年一度的春季联合晚会，今年节目的选拔还将和往年一样，班级节目为主，个人节目为辅，每个节目最好不超过３分钟，所有节目都需要有中国或中文元素，个人节目的选拔方法将在以后通知。
识字比赛６、７年级决赛
本周日3:30、4:25将分别举行6、7年级识字决赛(Rm C008)，从上周3,4,5年级的决赛情况看，绝大多数参加决赛的同学都认识所有的字，比赛经过很多轮都无法决出前三名，由于时间限制，组织者不得不临时增加难度，在多轮无法决出胜负的情况下，增加需要组词、造句的数量。请本周参加决赛的同学有所准备。我们在此为我们的同学喝彩，胜固欣然，败亦可喜，能认真准备、复习巩固所学的字，这正是我们举办认字比赛的初衷。
小店开放
本周日小店开门，为了保证低年级学生的安全，学校还是沿用上次小店分批次的方法，让低年级同学在上课时间由老师带队到小店采购，时间安排如下：K：1:50-2:05; 一年级非华裔:1:40-1:50; 一年级1,4班：2:40-2:50; 一年级2,3班：2:50-3:00，请各班家长协助老师，确保学生安全。

Time flies so fast. We just passed the half way of the semester. The daylight saving time ends this Sunday. Please remember to turn your clock back one hour this Sunday. We will use the new time this Sunday.
The Chinese New Year Gala
On Feb 4, 2018, we will have our annual Chinese New Year Gala at Lyman Center. We will follow our tradition to select the performance in two tracks, one through each classroom (higher priority), another through individual performance. Each performance will be limited to 3 min. Chinese culture related is a must. The details will be followed. Please stay tuned.
The Spellingbee competition for 6th and 7th graders
We will have the finals for the spellingbee competition of 6th and 7th graders in Room C008 at 3:30 and 4:25, respectively. Based on the competition last week, we are very happy that so many students know the characters and phrases they learned. It took almost forever to get the top 3 winners if no additional requirement was imposed. Please be prepared that you might be asked to put more phrases for the character.
The School Store will open this Sunday
Thanks to all volunteers organized by PTA, the school store will be open this Sunday. For the safety of young students, the school asks the teachers for K and level 1 to bring students to the store during the regular teaching time. The following is the schedule:
K: 1:50-2:05; 1st grade non-heritage:1:40-1:50; class 1.1 and 1.4：2:40-2:50; class 1.2 and 1.3：2:50-3:00
The parents of the above classes are welcome to help the teachers during the assigned time.
