中文学校上课日期改动通知 SCCS School Date Change

各位家长，

近来很多人向学校反映他们对新冠病毒的忧虑，希望学校本周再停课一次。经学校管理团队讨论决定，中文学校将在2月2日再次停课，2月9日开始上课，以后上课时间都由原来的1:30-5:10 pm 改为1:00-5:10 pm。每个上课日上课时间增加30分钟，这样我们可以补回失去的两个上课日时间。同时我们也非常感谢南康州立大学，他们协助我们将春节联欢会的日期改为3月29日，我们学校的同学家长们将会在一起高高兴兴地庆祝我们最重要的节日。

虽然新冠病毒在国内蔓延，在美国还是极少的个例， 美国疾病防控中心CDC并没有因为疫情建议取消大型活动，而我们学校是小班教室，相对风险更小。但是，我们希望各位家长继续做好防范工作，教育孩子勤洗手，不要让孩子带食物到学校和他人分享。如果您或者家人最近从国内、尤其是从有疫情发生的地区回到美国，请自觉居家隔离观察两周。

中文学校本学期将开设成人中文课和ESL辅导班，请大家互相转告。

Dear Parents,

Many people expressed their concerns about nCoV outbreak in China and asked the school to cancel the school again this weekend. After discussions within the management team, the school decided to cancel the school day for Feb 2. Our school will start on Feb 9, class time will change from 1:30-5:10 pm to 1:00-5:10 pm for all days starting Feb 9. Adding 30 minutes each school day will allow us to recoup the time for the 2 school days we missed. We are also very grateful that SCSU helped us reschedule the spring gala date to March 29. That will allow our students and families to enjoy the spring gala with no worry.

The nCoV outbreak in China is very serious. However, so far, CDC has not advised the public to cancel large gatherings or conventions in US. Our school is small class teaching, which has lower risk than large public gatherings. Nonetheless, we ask parents to take daily preventive actions, make sure your children wash hands before they eat, don't bring food to school to share with other students. If you just come from China, particularly from areas with nCoV outbreak, please stay home for 2 weeks before coming back to school.

SCCS will offer Adult Chinese class and ESL tutoring club this spring semester. Please help us spread the word.
